Our story

A new chapter for Direct Solutions K.K.

Born from our founder's passion for exceptional New Zealand spirits, Direct Solutions K.K. also operates as an importer and Japan representative for carefully selected premium brands.

DSG is the trading brand of Direct Solutions K.K., a Tokyo-based company best known for insurance direct marketing and related business services in Japan. Our spirits activity is a focused extension of that established business: connecting New Zealand producers with credible commercial partners in Japan.

We work closely with Woodward Street Distilling Company in Wellington to introduce products with a clear sense of place, distinctive ingredients and serious on-trade potential.

Our portfolio

Three distinctive expressions

A small, deliberately selected portfolio spanning London dry gin, contemporary vodka and premium tonic—each created in New Zealand and suited to quality-led hospitality and retail environments.

Penguins Crossing

A citrus-forward London dry gin built around New Zealand oranges, lemons, coriander seed, giant kelp and wild celery seed. Fresh, vibrant and juniper-led, with warmth, spice and a long savoury finish.

2026 SFWSC Gold Medal

ChiChi Vodka

A creamy, cereal-like vodka combining traditional grain character with whole coconut and Japanese koji. The result is smooth, complex and equally at home served cold or used as the backbone of a classic cocktail.

2026 SFWSC Silver Medal

Veranda Tonic

A New Zealand tonic centred on pomelo, the ancestral origin of citrus, and genuinely bittered with Javanese quinine. Carbonated cold for finer, tighter bubbles and a texture closer to champagne than conventional soda water.

Import & regulatory status

Direct Solutions K.K. holds the relevant licence stated below for its alcohol import activities. We are currently in the process of obtaining an expanded distribution licence required for our planned wholesale distribution activities in Japan.
